The primary source of funding for the UT Zero Energy House will come from corporate sponsors whose businesses range from electronics to entertainment, furniture to finance, and toys to telecommunications. Sponsorship provides a unique opportunity for corporations to have access to a valuable resource for conducting research that is too costly or risky to be accommodated within a corporate environment. It is also an opportunity for corporations to bring their business challenges and concerns to a research setting to see the solutions our researchers present.
This level of sponsorship provides all the benefits of consortium sponsorship (see below) with the added benefit of an employee-in-residence at the Lab.
The most frequently selected option, a consortium sponsorship connects a company with a group of other sponsors and faculty and research staff focused on a common agenda. These sponsors have access to all of the research conducted, visiting privileges, invitations to semi-annual sponsor-only forums, and full intellectual property rights.
Sponsorship of a fellow is an opportunity for a sponsor to work closely with a principal investigator and a graduate student in a specific area of focus to better understand the research being conducted. Student fellows can carry the sponsor’s name, and can rotate annually.
